Neighbors to the East

You’ve driven past it hundreds of times yet you probably didn’t know it was even there. The small town of Louvier, Colorado, which comprises only a couple hundred people, has the essential makeup of any small town – a park, post office, library and community events.

Next time you drive by, it’s worth the detour through the town plainly to appreciate the simplicity of it. Heading South on Sante Fe, take a right over the train tracks and you’ll be welcomed by a bridge adorned by artistic signs for Louvier, CO. The bridge crosses Plum Creek which feeds the abundant cotton wood trees that line it. Soon after, you’ll approach Dupont Park which has a fantastic baseball field, kids play area and shaded picnic tables.

Turn left on Louvier Blvd. and head down the quaint street to admire the beautifully kept homes. The small post office, library and clubhouse are all on your right hand side. The clubhouse can be rented for private events as long as the guest count is under 100.

It’s hard not to appreciate the many signs asking drivers to slow down for children and the patriotism of the American flags at almost every corner. Although small, Louvier, CO has a lot of charm. If you need a better excuse than to visit the town other than a leisurely drive, their Friday Night Movie lineup might intrigue you. Movies at Triangle Park will start at dusk and require a blanket or low lane chair. Next on the line-up is Mr. Peabody & Sherman on July 1st and Singing in the Rain on July 15th.
