The public library in Roxborough, one of seven Douglas County Libraries, is a wonderful library providing residents with a vast assortment of popular books, reference materials, downloadable audio, video and e-books, free Wi-Fi access, quiet reading spaces, and a wide range of fun, educational events. One such event coming up on Thursday, July 23 at 6:30pm is with author and forensic artist Carrie Stuart Parks.
Carrie Stuart Parks is an award-winning fine artist and is known internationally as a forensic artist. She, and her husband, Rick, travel across the United States and Canada teaching courses in forensic art to law enforcement as well as civilian participants.
In addition, Carrie Stuart Parks has mixed her forensic arts with her writing and has published a couple books including her latest novel, “A Cry From the Dust,” which she will be discussing at the upcoming event in Roxborough.
The book is about Gwen, a forensic artist and cancer survivor. Gwen takes on a new job at The Mountain Meadows Interpretative Center where she is asked to reconstruct the faces of three intact bodies that were discovered from an 1857 wagon train massacre. Soon her quest leads to a new murder.
Registration required. Books will be sold at the event.
