Sterling Ranch Update: 3/2015

Sterling Ranch is a hot topic within the Roxborough community. Now that the first phase of the 21st – century, sustainable community project was approved by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners back in January, Roxborough residents will start to see the beginnings of the development.

After six years of public review and challenges over water supply issues, the first phase is underway which will include 660 single-family residences on 325 acres. Roxborough residents should expect to see construction on the neighborhood, Providence Village, which will include 144 single-family homes, a school, church, recreation center and 85 acres of open space starting this spring.

When completed, Sterling Ranch will be home to over 12,000 new residents within nine villages. 40% of the 3,400 acres will be dedicated to open space including parks designed for sports like baseball, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse as well as 30 miles of interconnected trails. Seven school sites are in the plans as well as a town center which will include retail and office space, restaurants and entertainment options. The entire project will be built out over the course of 20 years.
