2017-2018 Douglas County Property Valuation

In Colorado, all properties are re-valued every odd-numbered year —this is called a reappraisal. When a property is reappraised by the Assessor’s office, we estimate the market value as of the appraisal date, which is set by statute as June 30 of the preceding year. The appraisal date for the 2017 Reappraisal is June 30, 2016.

New Location for ROX Art Gallery

The Roxborough Arts Council (RAC) is a non-profit organization supported by membership dues, activities, private donations and sponsorships as well as grants from the Scientific Cultural Facilities District (SCFD). The council welcomes all levels of artists in  all mediums. Many of the art that comes from the council is on display and for sale at the Rox Arts Gallery in the Roxborough Marketplace. Formerly between Waterton Tavern and Roxborough Academy of Martial Arts, the gallery has relocated to the 2nd floor of the marketplace just left of the elevator.

Traffic – UGH!!!

Fire Preparations

A fire off Highway 85 and Chatridge Court forced over 800 residents to evacuate their homes, Friday, October 28, 2016. According to South Metro Fire, the fire was caused by malfunctioning equipment on a power pole. The fire scorched 205 acres before it was fully contained. Luckily no damage was caused to structures in the area but certainly a scary moment for many.

Halloween seemed to sneak up on me this year. I’m chalking it up to the fact that this month was warmer than normal so summer still seemed to be hanging in there.
