The Audubon Society will be holding its 5th annual HOOTenanny at the Audubon Center at Chatfield on September 26th from 10:00am – 2:00pm.
Admission is $9 for adults and $6 for children age 3-12 which gains you access to an informational presentation about owls, educational and craft stations, and live bluegrass.
Wild Wings Environmental Education will be there educating attendees about the important roles of Colorado owls. Special appearances of owls will take place at 10:30am, noon and again at 1:30pm. Don’t miss the opportunity to see these beautiful birds up close.
Attendees will also get a chance to investigate owl pellets and learn about their eating habits. You’ll also want to stop by the craft stations to create your own owl inspired art. Lastly, peruse through owl biofacts before heading over to the merchandise table for…you guessed it…owl paraphernalia.
You can pack a picnic or stop by the Chibby Wibbitz food truck for a selection of sliders, tacos and other fun bites. Then, grab a seat and listen to local bluegrass band, Coal Town Reunion.
