Last December, Littleton City Counsel approved a deal with Lockheed Martin for a brand new fire station for the Trailmark neighborhood which is just north of Roxborough off Wadsworth Blvd. For years Trailmark was depending on other fire stations to service the neighborhood which could take up to 13 minutes. But when Lockheed Martin asked Littleton to take over it’s emergency services, Fire Station 19 was born. Fire Station 19 will not only service Trailmark and Lockheed Martin but will also cover Chatfield Park.
On February 3, 2016, Fire Station 19 broke ground. Seven short months later, the Grand Opening will take place on August 13th. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10am and then open house activities are to follow. There will be fire station tours for adults and children. In fact, children will receive a passport where they can collect stamps at the four different destinations inside the station. There will also be a bouncy house (shaped like a fire truck of course) as well as the Haz Mat Team and Littleton Fire and Rescue Dive Team. Light refreshments will be made available.
The fire station is located approximately 5 miles from Roxborough. Due to a shortage of parking spaces, consider biking or car pooling to the event.
