The holiday season is here which means many have been going on overdrive trying to accomplish the many tasks that can consume this special time of year. Getting a tree and then decorating it, shopping for presents then wrapping them, hanging lights, grocery shopping, finding the perfect ugly sweater, baking sugar cookies, sending out holiday cards…the list goes on and on. But there is one very important task that should be on the top of everyone’s list – charity. Below is a list of just a few charities in and around Roxborough.
Hands Across Roxborough is a nonprofit serving the Roxborough area. Their goal is to help 80125 neighbors in need. Every year around this time, Hands Across Roxborough collects donated gift cards to help families throughout the following year. You can help by dropping off gift cards from Safeway, King Soopers, Walmart or Target to Waterton Tavern, Trailstone Insurance or RE/MAX Edge.
New this year is a donation based yoga class every Saturday in December. 100% of donations will go to Hands Across Roxborough.
The Roxborough PTIC (Parent Teacher Involvement Committee) is the parent teacher organization of Roxborough Primary and Intermediate School. One of the easiest ways to donate is through their grocery card program.
If donating your time better suits you, consider checking out Metro Volunteers. Metro Volunteers is Colorado’s leading source for volunteer opportunities. They offer a wide range of programs, tools and resources for volunteering. Their volunteer opportunity calendar makes it very easy to get involved.
