Halloween in Roxborough

To kick start your spooky weekend head to Arrowhead Golf Club this Friday. The DeGrandes, Schaefer, Buffalos, Repellas, Clemenson’s and Halls invite you to eat, drink and be scary at the 16th Annual Halloween Bash. There will be music, appetizers, cash bar and a costume contest! There are just a couple more days to purchase tickets to the party for $20. Folks that register at the door pay $25. Click here for more information.

Before kids hit the neighborhood for trick-or-treating this Saturday, here are some tips on keeping it a safe and fun activity for all involved.

Gaining warranted exposure is the Teal Pumpkin Project™ which was launched as a national campaign by Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) in 2014 to create awareness of food allergies and promote alternative treats for children with allergies and other children for whom candy is not an option. Households participating in The Teal Pumpkin Project™ will have painted a pumpkin teal to indicate that their house will be handing out alternative treats, like small toys, to children with food allergies or other conditions like diabetes or celiac disease. Alternative items might include glow bracelets, stickers, pencils and crayons.

A fun way to burn off all the yummy treats you’ll be eating over the weekend is to add a pumpkin to your workout routine. Snap Fitness has designed five great exercises that’ll get you sweating all while giving that pumpkin of yours one last purpose.
