Stores across the country were making Christmas decorations available alongside Halloween decorations. What happened to Thanksgiving? More importantly, why are we rushing one of the best holidays this country celebrates? Thanksgiving Day is a a day to be thankful for all you have in your life. It’s also about giving and helping others in need. There are many ways you can give back – here are a few suggestions to help you get into the season of giving.
Hands Across Roxborough is a local non-profit helping families in the 80125 area with food and clothing needs. Gently used children’s clothing can be dropped off at 9608 Fox Den Drive and non-perishable food items can be dropped off at 7129 Eagle Rock Drive.
Now until December 20th, Hands Across Roxborough will be having their annual gift card drive. Donate gift cards from Safeway, King Soopers, Walmart and Target to help local families purchase perishable food items and gas. Coats for Colorado is the state’s largest coat drive, providing well over 2 million coats to Colorado residents of all ages. Coats for Colorado was established in 1982 by Dependable Cleaners and Shirt Laundry. In 2003 7NEWS partnered with Coats for Colorado.
Drop off new and lightly used coats at any Dependable Cleaner location or at one of the below special collection events. Coats will be accepted till November 30th. Coats for Colorado is in need of Men and Women XL coats as well as coats for children.
